Improving the fight against illegal content online
EuroISPA policy roundtable
Tuesday 21 June 16:00 – 17:30, A5G1
Hosted by MEP Pavel Telička (ALDE, Czech Republic)
In its recent Communication on Platforms the European Commission reiterated the need for a new emphasis on tackling illegal content online. At the same time, Parliament is playing an increasingly-influential role in enforcing law in the online sphere, in key policy areas such as terrorism, child protection, hate speech, and IPR enforcement.
In this political context, EuroISPA will convene a high-level policy roundtable to discuss mechanisms and procedures to improve the fight against illegal content online. This roundtable will serve to kickstart a meaningful reflection on how to foster trust and safety online, and build momentum as crucial illegal-content related dossiers come before Parliament.
